PUBLISHERS ON A MISSION

As creators of the bestselling field guide series of all time, Fieldstone Publishing is proud of the millions of lives our books have touched over nearly half a century, inspiring generations to learn about, appreciate, and engage with the natural world.

A CALL TO CONSCIENCE

In March 2023, Fieldstone announced it will no longer publish under the auspices of the National Audubon Society.
Citing John James Audubon’s history as a slave trader and outspoken white supremacist, Fieldstone Publishing became the first company to publicly break from Audubon, joining in solidarity with the staff union of the organization, the independent chapters who have voted to drop the name Audubon, and the international community which continues to call upon the Board to remove the name Audubon from its organizational identity.
Fieldstone Publishing believes that the struggle for all forms of justice - climate, environmental, social, economic, and racial - are inextricably bound. That’s why we proudly support the National African American Reparations Commission (NAARC) by donating proceeds from those Audubon books still in circulation.
With our all-new nature program in development and slated for launch this year, Fieldstone Publishing remains as committed as ever to bringing best-in-class content to ALL: from our faithful, longtime readers to the rising generation of nature lovers and the many generations to come.
